Gunsmithing Savage Smith in San Antonio

Hello everyone
As I've been a member for about five minuites please bear with me.
I recently purchased a Savage 10T IN .308. Seems like a great gun so far. I put a three round group together measuring .400 with SSA amo at 100 yrds, a good start. Much of the work I can do my self, but not all of it. Can anyone recomend a good, Savage friendly smith in or around San Antonio TX that wont break the bank.

Honestly, I would think you would be able to do all work on a savage, with a few tools.

Well I know Savages have a floating bolt face, but I have seen a truing of the action available online at SSS not shure what that includes. I'm going to bed a HS stock to it my self and possibly add a SSS Triger although the accutriger is pretty good. Im not ready to do the whole rebarrel ,recoil lug etc. job. Besides it has a 5R barrel. I was just thinking of haveing it trued up if possible and the one smith I took it to didn't seem to be much of a savage guy. any input is appreciated.

Just shoot the thing as is - there's zero need for a time & true job until you rebarrel (even then its benefits are marginal at best, though a 'time' job will slick up the bolt lift & throw), and you can install a SSS Comp or Rifle Basix SAV-1 yourself in about 10 minutes should you decide to do that.
