Ok guys, what would you put on a POF-308 with the 14.5" barrel for shooting 0-800 yards? Factoring in, I have 54 y.o. eyes with corrective lenses so more magnification isn't a bad thing. I was thinking that IOR 2-12 might fit the bill with the M8 dot reticle.

Re: Scope for POF-308

Or wait a few weeks (maybe a month) for the Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44...should be an excellent option. I have one on order that I plan to mount on an AR-10.

Also, the SS 3-9x or 10x fixed wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Also, depending on your budget, the Nightforce 2.5-10 is an EXCELLENT scope!

Re: Scope for POF-308

Viper PST maybe a good one, hadn't considered it since its not out yet. SS 3-9 is on the radar scope. That high dollar 1.8-10 that Leupold has with the Horusvision reticle rocks after the reviews I have seen but I am not paying that kind of money ever for anything Leupold makes.

Re: Scope for POF-308

The bushnell FFP ones might be worth a look. Personally I am waiting for vortex. If you go IOR get the MP8 (it's the one with all the lines). It will give you 10 mils of holdover and 5 each way for holdoff I think, so if you like to just "holdover" rather than dialing you could probably hold over all the way to 800 depending on your initial zero.

If you're interested in a leupold mark 4 8.5-25 with the TMR reticle and M1 knobs I might know another 50something year old who is selling one.

A USO ST-10 or SN3 with 37mm objectives. I'd love to have a SN3 3.2-17 with the 37mm just for a POF, since our rails are a little higher than your average AR....

+1... but an SN3 1.8-10x37 in a set of Larue LT-719 ultra-low QD rings is an extremely functional setup on a POF out to 800

Re: Scope for POF-308

i would run a nightforce 2.5-10 or 3.5-15 with npr1 or npr2. i build a setup like this with an ar10 myself, but i want to top the nightforce with a rugged mini reflex for closer range stuff.

+1. .885" rings make the 2.5-10 sit perfect on a POF. I'm running 2.5-10s on a .223 16" and a .308 20". Going to put a 3.5-15x50 or 3.5-15x56 on the .308 (primarily so I can put the 2.5-10 on my 10/22).

Anyone know if a Unimount 1.125 will clear with the 3.5015x56?

Thanks.

I'll second this one, I love mine!
