Well folks,
I'm currently living in MA. (for now) and I can't find any good schools nearby to use my GI bill at. And after browseing the "at home" gunsmithing schools. This one seems to be the most accredited. Has anyone done this course? is it a waste? I don't think I'll ever be able to pull off "full time gunsmithing" But I would like to do gunplumber work for others. I've done a few pretty easy projects, and some resto work. So I'm all about learning the harder stuff now.

Re: SDI Gunsmithing course

Buy every book you can find and study them. Some are better than others. Reread the good ones. Buy a lathe (your flavor) and start making chips. Make all the mistakes you can. Buy some old beater rifles. Tear them apart, rechamber them til the barrel is a nub. Thread the tenon til it is a nub. Bed them, grind it out, re bed them, grind them out and rebed them until it hurts. Rework the triggers until you can in your sleep. Then you will know enough to start learning how to work on them. My apologies for knowing nothing of SDI.
