Generally not a fan of shows like this, but there is some effort to make it realistic and there are very likeable characters
Most recent show was of particular moral interest wherein an 18 yr. team Member awaiting WO promotion was involved with a hostage rescue, and hostage was a collateral during the rescue attempt. The 18 year team Member was under the impression he used a grenade instead of a flash bang at the rescue, because there were two explosions almost simultaneously, and was fully prepared to take it for the team. However the second explosion was not the flash bang, but a FNG team member who threw a grenade into the room from its back side, knew what he did, and was willing to let the vet take the hit for it in the absence of any contradictory data.
The drama was impressively well played out, and the AAR process was well done as shown from many points of view.
In the end right won out, the Vet member forgave his FNG teammate, but did not ever trust him, and his Trident was rescinded was removed by the full vote of the team.
One likes to see right and wrong in this day and age. But only an idiot like me thinks right always does or should triumph.

that was a good episode and this is a good show. BUT, why all the family crap and drama? all these shows (swat, deputy, hawaii five-o, etc, etc) would be awesome if they just focused on the cops and robbers aspects. i know they all have home lives, and so do i, and i just want to see them at WORK, getting and killing bad guys and saving good guys!

It's a good series and I watch it, well written and for the most part it seems to try to be pretty accurate both on and off the battlefield.
However at the end of the day, it's just entertainment, and should be judged as such.

So I just watched the last episode "Fog of War" and I'm impressed with how they dealt with some of the underlying issues that have "haunted" the SEALs and other SOF units. Not really sad to see Vic go, losing Ray would have been a show killer. On another note, I'm kinda musing on the names they have for there grenades? "Homewrecker" and "Crash" with the latter I'm guessing is a flash bang type. I've have never heard those terms before, and I'm wondering if it's just specific to the series/show?. Overall excited for the rest of the season, but sadly it's far too short :( Cheers

No idea on the "homewrecker" though it does seem like an apropro nickname for what was likely a MK3A2 offensive grenade.

The "crash" grenade is likely in reference to the M116A1 simulator grenades that SEALs have been known to retrofit with an M201 fuse, which they nicknamed the "Flash-Crash".

One of the actors Tyler Gray is a former seal. I believe he was team 2? Anyway, he’s the reason it’s more technically accurate. He even directs an episode from time to time.

This is one of the very few network show I watch. I am just waiting to see if the writers succumb to the every show MUST have a gay character. I am sick of the Hollywood elites pushing that narrative.

Might have to give it a try. I usually don't like military drama. I'll forgive an error in sci fi before an error in a real gun and I hate the civilian thought on military life.

I just watched this interview, really good and well done. This guy definitly had his sh*it together and some really good insights for life after the military, easy to see the "A" type personality. Enjoy

For once I'd like to see a Navy show about real Navy life
  1. Drinking coffee
  2. Making coffee
  3. Standing watch (doesn't matter where) when absolutely nothing is going on
  4. Eating midrats
  5. Playing video games/cards/dominoes/whatever
  6. Doing drills
  7. Doing pms
  8. Doing field day and sweepers
  9. Going to captain's mast
Only one I've ever seen approach that is this one, but it's the Royal Navy:

One of the things I like about this show (intended or not?) is that while the last episode concentrated on family etc, they seem to always give us something in the way of action. The opening at the plant and the Blackhawk and minigun action was awesome.

You missed needle gunning and deck crawling for action scenes. I never experienced #9.

Yeah, as a former 1st division officer, I should have remembered that.

I had to escort some of my men to the mast. Most deserved it, one did not.

ET1(ret), I had an ET3 get arrested and go to mast while I was on Holiday Stand Down. Came back and was told I had a new ETSN, only to find out the whole story. Admin never pulled his clearance and I had to take him back. A year later he was caught stealing again, right after I transferred.

Older showc" the unit" was pretty good for the first 2-3 seasons, while Eric Haney was involved, after he left the writing went to shit.

this has been our favorite show for quite some time. my wife and I struggle to find a middle ground on an 1 hour show, just enough drama, fighting, action. I have no military background but it looks like all the actors take their acting/training off screen pretty seriously

I noticed NF ATACRs and a KRG SOTIC in this episode. It’s cheesy network TV but but whoever is in charge of props has good taste. This is a guilty pleasure show for me.

I'm wondering if these patches will hit the market at some point, I guess some were given out at SHOT this yr. Pretty good score if you got one.

3 of the guys are real deal. Tyler Grey (Trent) is a former Ranger. Heavy Metal did at least 2 tours I am aware of, and Brock (The dog runner) is an indiana policeman that I believe runs on their swat unit, so at least 3 guys have real world experience in the tactics.

Starting watching again because of this thread. First season was garbage with a problem being presented, no clue how to fix it and finally getting everything straightened out in the last 5mins of every show. Too bad Six was canceled, first season was really good and then hollyweird got a hold of it. Sucks that it's every 2 weeks.

I agree that season one seemed like it did not know what direction it wanted to take. I think it's getting better, but the drama every episode with the actual team guys is getting annoying. I get that its a drama, but shit they are writing it like they are a bunch if women playing SEALs.

Great taste indeed. Crye Precision'd down to the socks. I can't stand when I see monster fireballs being emitted from their suppressors though. Their FX guys need some enlightenment.

Dismissed it when it first came out but have watched a couple of the current episodes since seeing this thread. There's certainly worse out there. Trying to decide if worth trying to get the first 2 seasons and first of S3.

I believe I read like a couple days after the season 3 finale that it got picked up for season 4. Think season 4 continues where the end of season left off cuz of Covid19
