I just come from the shop doing some reloading and I have a question. I made a OAL gauge were I can slide a bullet in and out of a case by hand with some resistance. The measurement I got was 2.289 so I was going to start out .002 off the lands at 2.287. I set my RCBS rock chucker press up with a Redding Compitition Seating Die. I set the first bullet at 2.287 the rest of them are all over the place from 2.287 to 2.280. I'm trying to use the same pull of the handle and I checked to make sure my dies are tight. I am assuming that the seating die seats off of the ogive and if this is true, is there that much variation in the plastic tips of the V-Max. If not what am I missing.

Thanks, Shane

You're exactly right, you're not missing anything.
