I Need some advice on suppressor to fit specific wants/needs. Must be 300 win mag rated, 5/8-24 thread on, most desired characteristic(sp?) recoil reduction. Sound attenuation/flash/blast signature secondary, though a factor. Price not an issue, weight not an issue. I believe internal volume is going to be my most desired factor. I am making this request from the knowlegable people on this forum. Specific manufacture/model recomendations is data requested. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Re: Selection Advice Request

MGD: Thanks very much for the input. I'm suprised there have not been any more replys. I thought with this much experience available the question would elicit more responce. Of the three suggestions the QSM has a clear volumetric advantage. While I stated in original post weight was not a factor I have to wonder what the long term effects of 43oz hanging off of a relatively short threaded section will be..There are after all many factors to consider. Once again thanks for your honest input.

Re: Selection Advice Request

Sounds like your in the same boat me as far as what you are looking for in a suppressor. Except that you need 300 win mag rated.

How is it that this is TI and weighs 43 oz? Granted it is 41% bigger than most other .30 mag cans but weighs almost 3x what they do. At the end of the day the device manipulates heat and pressure. I have to wonder if any marginal reduction in the sound signature is truly worth 3x the weight.

Also with respect to recoil - any decent suppressor should turn it into a big shove and it will be very pleasant to shoot. I would encourage that you look at TI simply because the weight difference is @ 1/2 over SS.

May also want to look at

SAS http://www.suppressedarmament.com/762-suppressors.html

SRT http://www.srtarms.com/

I have an SRT Shadow XL in SS that I use on my .300WinMag. Some day I will definitely upgrade to TI.

Good luck

Re: Selection Advice Request

AWC Thundertrap either steel or Ti. I have a steel .338 Thundertrap and its been a great choice. I have a Ti on order. I have shot mine on .308 up to .338LM and a .338-408 CT wildcat. Very good sound reduction and built like a tank. PG
