I decided to shorted the LOP on a McM stock, to make it easier to shoot offhand. The Decelerator pad has no screws, any recommendation on what to glue it back on with?

My plan is to:
1. Cut 1/2" off with a sharp blade in a woodworking chop saw.
2. Sand the buttstock if needed.
3. Saw and then sand the fiberglass off of the decelerator pad.
4. Build up any internal structure of the buttstock, if needed.
5. Glue the Decelerator pad back on.

Anything the matter with this plan? TIA.

The plan sounds solid to me. Have you looked for a thinner recoil pad?

I replaced the recoil pad on an HS Precision and attached with screws for easier removal.

I was also considering doing this to a B&C stock. But right now I am in contact with B&C, and might just send it off to them to get it adjusted.

That tutorial is very helpful. Gluing the buttpad on with epoxy, that is the primary piece of info I was missing. Glad to know epoxy works.

I like the 1" recoil pad, because it is comfortable and some day I may use the stock with a larger caliber. Thanks to all for the help.

Nope...done it myself several times. Be careful to use good workmanship and its as solid as ever. Same goes for B&C and other like stocks that are not tupperware.
