Shout out to Greg at Southern Precision and Bartlein!

I recently ordered a Bartlein barrel from Greg (aka: Bugholes) for a 300 Norma build. The barrel had a 1.350 shank, which makes it pretty rare (read, hard to find). FYI - most barrels have a 1.200 or 1.250 shank. When I received the barrel it was the wrong one. I've ordered a few barrels from Greg and this was a first. Long story short, after a couple of calls back and fourth he called Bartlein to help solve the problem and Bartlein agreed to spin up a new barrel and get it to me in a week!!!

I can't thank Greg and Bartlein enough for getting all this straighten out in such a timely fashion. I highly recommend both companies!

Yup! Greg is great. My first custom build used a Bugholes Bugnut barrel (Bartlein) and the tightest group i ever shot was with that setup. My lead time and price quotes were excact on the nose and he was there to answer all of my dumb questions!

Why 1.35" im sure 1.25 is more than enough for norma or even lapua?

The Surgeon XL action requires a 1.350" shank.

I bought a Savage Prefit Bartlein and had a hell of a time getting it to shoot. Turned out it was a bad batch of bullets, but Greg went way out of his way to get things sorted out. Still shooting the same barrel 2300 rounds later, placed 1st in a local match today, and threw a 0.63 and a 0.58 MOA 10-shot groups at 100 last week with virgin brass and 140 ELD-M's.
