Show your new for 2014 AR!

Can't remember if I actually posted or if I just wanted too. But at any rate, here is my first ar build that is nearing completion. I want to upgrade the mil spec trigger to a giessele or another nice trigger, and upgrade the optics to either an eotech or aim point.

-mega arms upper and lower
-15" midwest industries gen2 ss handguard
-vltor Imod buttstock
-magpul maid grip
-magpul forward vertical grip
-vortex sparc
-rainier arms raptor charging handle coming in a day or two.
-dpms lpk with cmmg ambi selector switch.

This is my build:

Noveske Afghan 13.7 pinned to a Noveske KX5

Geissele SD-3Gun Trigger
Aimpoint T-1 w/Larue mount

The SBR is as Follows:
Seekins Upper/Lower receivers
Geissle MK4 9.5"
Daniel Defense MK18 10.3" barrel
Geissele SD-E trigger
Trijicon SRS w/ Bobro lever mount
SWR Specwar Muzzle device
Micro MOA Govnah Switchable gas block (the most impressive difference for suppressed AR's)

I know they aren't that special, but they sure do tickle my fancy.

I've completed these thus far in 2014, & have a 300BLK SBR in the works when my F1 gets approved.

Top to bottom: BCM mid-length "Recce" style 5.56 (haven't decided on buis, yet); My oldest son's mid-length KISS 5.56 (will eventually get an ACOG along with a free float rail); and a .22 LR that I built up on Spikes upper/lower receivers with Taccom barrel & bolt.

It isn't built yet.

I didn't need a new AR, but I couldn't let this go by. The Unit I was with in Vietnam had a reunion. 2/502 Inf 101st Abn Div. Sherwood Armory was contacted to make some rifles honoring our unit, the made both rifles and Lowers. So I orders a lower, and started shopping for parts.

I have the upper put together and tested it on one of my other lowers and fired a bunch of rounds as fast as I could. It worked flawlessly.

I have all the lower parts and I'm just waiting for the lower to get here. I'll post other pictures when I get it together, but here is the lower.

That is awesome!!!!! First off thank you for your service. I was stationed at Ft. Campbell back in the late 80's in the 20th Engr. Bn. I was a combat engineer. The 20th was right next to the 502nd and did a lot of work with them. Great looking lower with the screaming eagle on it. Good luck with it and Thanks Again. God Bless

Mega Ma-Ten "Megalithic" upper/lower combo
Lilja 24" 260 Remington barrel
SLR adjustable gas block
Gieselle SDE 3.5 lbs trigger
MOE grips/Rifle stock
Aero BCG
Seekins 1.26" 34mm rings

Cerakote is a custom blend of ICON Grey (H-125Q) [aka Larue/Magpul urban dark earth] and APA Sage (H-205Q) to yield a subtle shade that dependent on lighting looks either green or grey with a slight touch of brown. It has no blue hue or tint whatsoever. It is a little less green and lighter than Magpul Foliage.

Rainier upper w/BCG and Raptor charging handle
Rainier 14.5" select barrel, 1 in 8" polygonal 5R
Rainier low profile gas block
Rainier XTC flash comp (pinnned to comply with ATF regs)
Apex machine 14" Gator grip handguard
Mega Lower
Phase 5 tactical BAD lever
Geissele SSA-E trigger
JP Silent capture spring buffer
Ergo grip
Magpul STR in foliage
Vortex Viper PST 1-4x in a Burris Reaper mount
Lancer Systems L5AWM 30 round foliage magazine

The rifle is very soft shooting, highly accurate, and stays on target well in rapid fire strings.

Just revised my go-to 16" carbine (range fun & training gun).

Swapped a variable optic onto my 12.5" SBR. This gun is way more accurate than I am.

Both buns need a little Krylon, though...

Very nice. What's the rifle bottom? Forgive me for the dumb question, I'm new.
