I'm keeping the name simple, no frills, no glitter.

PR-One for "Precision Rifle-One" After all, thats what it is, a precision rifle. The frills will be while your behind it.

There’s so many different names I think you have to be careful as to not offend someone or exclude them. I love LSU but others hate them, some love Gators or all things Cajun but the Northerners may feel different. I just wanted a simple name that summed up the rifle. Frank helped me via PM's and although he didn’t name the rifle he did help me to realize that simple was best.

As a side, the receiver drawings are complete and paper work should be submitted to the ATF on Monday with the marking variants, DBA and my 07FFL. Once approved, we'll be making chips and the prototype will follow shortly there after.

If you'd like a little more input on the stick, I like where you're headed with this. Krieger #18 at 22" in 1-10 for .308 should work great. I cut my .260 at 23" - I might go 24" or 25" next time.

You might consider Milspec O.D. for the metal, and McM desert camo for the stock color. The Milspec O.D. looks a lot like Parkerizing, and blends with things better than flat black IMHO. It is a good comination with desert camo and several other molded camo / swirl combinations. Also, you might consider including an extra magazine for customers - something most manufacturers just don't do anymore.

I run a 26" on my .260 and 6XC and love em. For me, 22" would be as short as I'd go on a .308 but I cut a barrel to 18" for a client on his .223 build. At the end of the day, the man with the check book dictates the outcome so, even being a signature rifle build, the client will have some say in the matter as far as caliber, color, barrel length etc.

We'll see what happens with LSU today, they dodged a bullet last week.

As a side, I talked with KG Industries yesterday concerning a custom color mix.

Sorry if I missed it in the names, how about the Spartan King Leonidas? It would typlify a performance when someone showed up with your rifle and cleaned the field of the rest of the competition.

Also after building on the Surgeon RSR I would not do it any other way, The heavy palma profile is balanced perfectly without being to heavy to drag around but plenty stable off bags or a bipod.

The Marking Variants Request has been emailed to the ATF's Firearms Technology Branch. The model designation/name is "LPR-One" this can be changed or a new one added at anytime.

I may have a model in my hands within 14 days. Once that happens and all is cool with the ATF I'll build a prototype and invite Hide Members to the Range for a test drive and evaluation. The invite will not be limited to local members only, if you want to meet us at the range, the invite will be open to anyone
