Dylanss180, thanks for posting!
If you can, please give us some more details on the sliding bipod assembly.
Are you going to use some kind of recoil absorber for the butt?
What bullets are you planning to use?
The bipod assembly is mounted to a tube that has .125" clearance between the bipod tube and the barrell shroud. On the barrel shroud there are two mounts that have guide bushings in them for two 5/8 rods. If you look at the photo you will see two rods that are used to guide the floating bipod tube. That will be the way it works. There will also be springs mounted to it so it will return to position after firing. I am going to try it without a hydraulic dampener first. If the recoil isn't excessive I will not use one. Otherwise I will put one in the butt of the gun.
As for bullets I am making my own. I made one a few weeks back that didn't work. I will try again soon. The bullet design is from a forum member here on the hide that i am making. It isn't close to right yet. (I am making the bullets on a mill). The bullet on the left is the hornady 750 a max. The new one will be a little over 1000 grains.

I'd like to see how well it groups. Is it actually accurate enough for hitting 55 gallon drums at 2000 meters and beyond?
I hope it shoots good. I don't know until I actually get it working.
Some more teaser photos.
