Sitting in the ER on a Sunday night

Son got hit by a baseball in the head , line drive to third . So I went to the field and he's on the ground bleeding . Not profusely. Call 911 , ambulance comes , loads him up and gets stuck in the mud . Helped dig it out and grabbed a tarp feom the trunk and rocks from the parking lot to get it out . He's seems ok waitin on Doc .

Damn what a crappy way to spend the evening. Head injuries are scary. Daughter took a charge ok basketball a couple weeks ago and she suffered a concussion and missed a couple weeks of ball. Not fun. Good luck. Prayers sent

Damn! I hope he is totally fine. Head injuries of ANY kind is not a joking matter. Better safe than sorry 100%. Good call on taking him to the ER and more kudos for helping them free the ambulance from the mud.

That sucks, prayers for you and your son. Like others have stated, he's young, they bounce better than us, but better safe than sorry.

My mom demanded a wallet size of the CAT scan I had after my umpteenth concussion when I was 12, just to prove I had a brain. Seems I did a lot of stupid s**t as a kid.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes . My son is fine . He has a 2 inch cut in his scalp and no concussion . It was a very late night but gratefully it worked out .
They glued the cut closed using his own hair like zip stitches . Twisted it pulled atrands together to close then glued . Thanks again .

Saw a couple of kids hit on the side of the head Temple region by line drives and they had a tear of the middle meningeal artery with acute epidural hematomas which needed surgical drainage...Hope your boy checks out ok..
I have had 3 concussions and a fractured skull: Baseball bat, concrete wall playing soccer, and the third I can't remember
