Guys,

I am currently looking for a decent sling that i can use in some of the precision rifle classes as well as something would would make humping my 15+ SASS around alittle easier(i also take it hunting with me). I've checked out the Biathlon sling (https://www.riflesonly.com/pro-shop/tactical-gear/regular-biathlon-sling-rbs.html)

and the Viking Tactics Backpack sling (http://www.vikingtactics.com/specialtyslings_backpack.html)

Do any of you have experience with either sling? I don't mind dropping the extra cash for the biathlon (or even a better one if recommended), but i want to make sure that i buy the best i can get for what i'm looking for.

Re: Sling Opinions

Another vote for the TIS slip cuff with quick release.

Its width distributes the weight of the rifle well and as a shooting aid it is second to none. I have mine set so I can slide my arm through the entire sling as a hasty-sling and the front loop set for prone and sitting/kneeling. It is rock solid for taking a positional shot and a snap to get out of and reset. I have replaced all of my non-carbine rifle slings with these.

Another vote for the TIS Slip Cuff Quick Release. I have several TIS slings all of which work very well but the Slip Cuff Quick Release combines the best features of each.

Re: Sling Opinions

There are a lot of people here on the Hide that like one or the other. Soon there will be plenty of back and forth of TAB/TIS.

Here is a little infomercial I did on TIS slings.
<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jqaIB7vzvqs&feature=plcp"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jqaIB7vzvqs&feature=plcp" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> </embed></object>

The similarities of the names in the TIS can get confusing.

Quick Cuff
Slip Cuff
Slip Cuff Quick Release

Both the TAB and TIS slings are listed here:

Re: Sling Opinions

At present my Mountain Stalker Sling is my favorite sling. They are versatile and flexible. This is where the comfort comes from. The fact that I can quickly and easily change how the weight is distributed allows for excellent comfort.
