I have an international trip coming up to Italy, and am looking for something to use for carrying my cameras and whatnot while walking the streets sightseeing. My main concern is snatch and runs though, and I'll have a few thousand worth of cameras and whatnot with me. I want to be a tourist without really looking like a dumbass tourist who can be victimized by the Gypsies. So my thought is one of the shoulder type sling bags that are designed to be slung cross body, but I'm coming up short with finding a good one. I'd go with a regular backpack, but I want to be able to bring it around front to access it.

Most of what I'm finding is either "tacti-tard" or flimsy. I don't want plastic connector clips, those would snap right off if snatched, so direct sewn with an adjustment buckle is a must. I don't want anything Molle looped up, multicam, etc. either. Needs to fit a DSLR type camera (Sony RX10) and a point and shoot, couple bottles of water, probably a couple items of my girlfriend's so she doesn't have to have a purse. I'm not carrying a tripod or anything crazy large, just more than I want slung around my neck and in pockets. Otherwise, I'm driving everywhere and only need an afternoon's worth of essentials while walking the streets and visiting museums.

Not looking to spend a lot on this, definitely under $100 if possible. Anything water resistant, civilian type colors, and compartmentalized inside would be a plus, but I'll sacrifice as necessary.

Any recommendations are appreciated, discounted recommendations even better.

Maybe a Thinktank - Turnstyle 10 or 20 bag? I have a Turnstyle 5 and its smaller than what it looks like in the pics.

That's actually a good looking bag and right along the lines of what I'm looking for, not sure how it didn't come up in my results earlier when I was on Adorama...

Definitely makes the short list though, I'll give it another bit for more suggestions before clicking checkout on that one. I appreciate it!

Check out max expedition gear.I have a Sitka gearslinger pack and love it.Well made and great for travel. They have a bunch of sling type bags in various sizes and shapes.I'd be surprised if there's not something that interest you.Its something that's not gonna wear out and only make one trip.

I like the small size and modularity of my Blue Force Gear Jedburgh pack; a variety of velcro-based pouches to be configured internally and externally add / subtract other pouches on the web mounting system. This one is their Grey Ghost color.
