I tried searching but could not find the answer. Is the Us Optics SN-4 a true 1 power? Also, for the folks running them how do you like them? I am trying to decide between another NF 1-4 or the USO for one of my AR's. Thanks

I've been wandering if you can use the JNG reticle in the 1-4 SN4 or SN4S?
Could be something I would purchase in the near future for my ACR.

Seeing as how they list their scopes as 3.8x and 1.7x it is safe to say they actually measure the magnification. Knowing that it would be safe to speculate that if they say 1x that it is within half of a tenth of true 1.0x.

My favorite 1-4 optic, hands down. There are lighter choices, but non better IMHO. True 1X.
BTW, SWFA has one at a great price on their sample list right now!

One of the better tests I have seen for 'true 1x' is to set an object (I remember someone using a ruler) in the photo and have part of the pic show the view through the scope and part of it not.

My SN-4S is a true 1x. It has the 5.56 BDC reticle in the FFP so it holds value throughout the power range. Big and heavy but it made it through my entire tour without a hitch. I do recommend getting the extended eye relief option.

I have some sn4's. They are so sweet. I have used the nightforce with the fc2. The dot in the reticle is huge. I can shoot better with my circle chevron reticle sn4 than I can with the nf 2.5-10. My only gripe is I would like to use a 3 gun cat tail on the sn4 but they dont exist as far as I have found. I think the mag ring turns too far to use one the way I have them mounted either way.
Other than that. USO sn4 is THE optic for my ar's

I love my SN4. I took one into OEF VII and beat the hell out of it. When I came back and asked for some new parts and for them to make the front round again(yes, I beat the shit out of it) I was asked to send my 'veteren' in so it could be added to teh combat veteren scope collection. A couple months later I received a really sweet SN4 with a JPJ1 reticle with green lit. It kicks ass when I have M855 to shoot, but I have been schooled and told to zero it at 300 so it works for all 5.56 that is issue or otherwise.
The SN4 flat kicks ass. It's the best perimeter/cqb scope I have used and the ability to go to 4x is the best part. If you want to use it on more than one rifle, get the Circle Chevron reticle. It has some nice ranging brackets that work real fast.
