I'm not going to start this off, by simply copy/pasting the wiki story for each person. Over the years, I have seen here, (we well as many others) that there ARE members here whom have personal experiences that can be shared here. And how 'concise' should this list be made? American only? North American only? Allied only? Worldwide? What says you?

How about Leo Major. Canadian sniper nicknamed the one eyed ghost? You can read about him on Wikipedia.

One you dont hear much about, but in my opinion was America's top sniper of all times.

A well todo Farmer who wished to remain natural during the Civil War until Yankees killed his two young sons and hung their head on a post leading to his farm.

Jack Hinson declared war on the yankies, killing over 100, mostly officers.

We know body account alone doesnt make a sniper. Using his special made 50 cal muzzle loader he disrupted Union Shipping on the Tenn and Ohio River, even having one gun boat surrendering to him (which he had to let go since he had no means to care for a Union Ship and its sailors.

Hinson tied up 4 Infantry and Marine Regs. tasked to search for him. He also provided scouting recon for Gen Forrest's Cav. Finished the war with a price on his head but was never captured. Die of old age on his farm.

This started not very far at all from where I live. A lot of history here about what he done and how he done it. I personally dont blame him I'd have took as many as i could as well.
