I finally got everything together on a long awaited project of mine. I would like to thank Marvin Pitts for another excellent job done perfectly. Here is my 13" SCAR 17 CQC. This is one of the best battle rifles out there today IMHO. This one handles like a dream, and is one of the softest shooting 7.62x51mm rifles I have fired.

The pistol grip is the regular A2 grip that come on it. I took the finger groove off and stippled it. The rail grips are the Larue rail grips that I stippled as well.

What made you decide to go with the Aimpoint? </div></div>

I wanted this to be a serious "social" gun for use from 0-500 and still be lightweight. I have no problems banging steel with it at distance, plus I really like the T1. That said, I really would like to try a Short Dot on it soon.

Sweet!

It's full length is the same as the LMT with the stock collapsed.

What does it weigh compared to the 556 LMT?

Also put T1's on a few of my rifles recently.

That's a buddy's LMT, but honestly in the hand it feels lighter than the LMT.

Actually, it's really not any worse that a 16" barrel. I was quite surprised as I figured it would be aweful, but a Springfield Scout Is 10x's worse.

Maverick:

Marvin does an incredible job. I had took pics but now I can't find them, of the crown ffrom the factory and the crown he cut. His was prestine. I actually shot it for groups before the cut & after on both my 16 (which I had cut to 10") & the 17. Both shot noticibly better after the barrel work. If you are thinking about cutting it don't hesitate. If you need his contact info let me know.

Maverick PM sent

I have a Larue scope mount inbound for a 4.5-14 Leupold I have. When I get that mounted I'll shoot some groups & post the pics.

Take some pictures of the muzzle blast while you fire it at night. Should be a pretty sight.

Where in SC are you? -- I picked up my 17 last week and couldn't be happier. I was considering converting it to an SBR but was worried about getting a quality cut- from what I see here though its near perfect--
I'd like to get Marvin's email/ tel info also--
