Man, I'm sitting on two form 4's because like a dummy I bought two .22's and I want to see about getting my NFA dealer to sell one of them to someone else and apply that cash to a 7.62 can.

Anyone know how that would work without putting my NFA dealer out too much?

I haven't paid the 200$ tax, I'm sitting on two un-submitted form 4's.

Trying to figure out if I can get someone else to buy one of the .22 cans and use the $$ towards a 7.62 can.

Re: So how can I fix this?

did your dealer have to order this CAN specifically for you ?

Or was this something he had in stock ?

if it was something he had in stock I don't see why he wouldn't want to take more of your money and sell you another CAN

I haven't talked to him, don't want to be a bother, he's a really good guy who works a LOT.

Just thought someone else might have had a similar experience and would know for sure what the legalities are, one of the suppressors I had ordered (the one I want to keep) the other he had in stock.

Neither has left his safe so far as I'm aware.

Maybe I'll just call him today and ask.

Re: So how can I fix this?

Basically all he did for the form 4's was print them out.

did you already pay for the cans?
you can't really return stuff like that but you could probably sell them locally or have him sell them.

if they are on his books on form 3 then they are his and he can do what he wants with them.

Re: So how can I fix this?

even if you already paid for them, he can still return them for store credit since the form4's haven't been sent off to place them under your name.

you haven't taken posession of them at all, so i'm assuming they are brand new and can be placed back on the shelf

Yeah, I paid for both cans. Yes, he printed out the form 4's for me.

I do not want to try and "return" the one I want to "sell", I'm just wondering about the legality of me/him getting another buyer to buy it and then using the cash I paid him towards a 7.62 can.

I'll just call him today and see what he says...

Re: So how can I fix this?

it is on form 3 to him.. so he can sell it to whom ever he wants..

your not on the hook for anything legally until your from 4 is approved..

but you will be out the cash until he sells it.

Cool, thanks, this is kind of the situation/information I was hoping for.

It's a Thompson Machine XD1.0 .22 that I purchased as a promotional unit, I think it was 200$. But this isn't really a "WTS" thread, I don't know how that would even work, I plan on finding a local buyer I guess and let them pay my C3 dealer directly.
