I have a .223 AI action I had built by Youngs on a trued Rem 700. 20" Bartlein 1:8 twist with 1/2x28 thread w/protector.
Scope rail is a Badger Ordnance 20MOA. (Model 1005-306-06)
Cerakoted FDE by Branden at Custom Gun Coatings. Just a few scratches mostly from sitting in the safe.
Load I developed was a "moderate" 80gr SMK at 2,767fps. Logbook has 425 rounds down the tube.
Just selling it because I have 3 other .223AI's and .223's!

**UPDATE 11/14/19** A lot of folks asked for an accuracy test, especially with different weight standard .223 loads (which defeats the purpose of an AI, but whatever....) so while I was up at the cottage last week I mounted it up and shot some groups with some ammo I had on hand, please see target photos added. There was heavy cross wind on both days. The last load on the bottom right is the handload I developed for it. The red square is 5/8" across.

The shoulder portion of a standard .223 is blown forward like a millimeter on a .223Ackley Improved (AI). It allows you to get a little bit more powder in the case to increase velocity. What it does in my shooting is allows me to shoot a .224 RELIABLY/CONSISTENTLY out to 800. Whereas a “normal” .223 I can only run consistently out to about 600-650. The great benefit is that you can still shoot standard .223 in it and get great groupings as well (just not the extra “distance/velocity”).
