I just want to point out that, Gaza was given over to the Palestinians in 2005 I believe it was. Israelis moved out. They literally handed to them basically their own state. They could have done something with this and became part of a high functioning state of modern day society. But once handed over they more or less voted in Hamas and an extreme leader and every since 2005 have spent their time and resources launching rockets at Israel all the time instead of helping build themselves up. They tried the two state experiment. I’m not taking sides here but Israel owes them nothing and you can rest assured that if someone came into the US and pulled that crap we’d be pulling out all stops. That stretch of land could have one hell of a booming tourist economy if they so chose to. Instead they are being consumed by hate. I get it, the problems there are very complicated but everyone is guilty, they just have to figure out a way to let go of the past to be able to prosper and grow in the future. It’s as simple as that. Until they can let go and become normal citizens in modern society then this shit will never change. I don’t blame Israel one bit.

Everyone knows this would be terribly wrong - two wrongs don't make a right. If you go back and read one of my posts I said that this is pretty normal for humans in the past, and as humans we have within us the potential to continue this trend until the end of the world. However, I think there is a real difference between genocidal barbarism and mercy for the innocent. We do not live in the OT when this was common place for most civilizations. For the guilty I have no real issues on how they are dispatched; if you don't deal with them decisively they will continue - there has to be a response in order to shut it down and create respectful avoidance of future similar situations for those that follow behind them. The issue here becomes what do you do with those that were not a part of this evil but have been taught from birth to oppose you. This goes for both sides.
The reality is that mercy is not what either side desires - the leadership of both would wipe the other of the map if they could. This is the kind of conflict that is there at the moment. And I still say that exporting potential terrorists to other countries just to remove them from yours is a dick move and dangerous to those who have been your allies. It shows just how little Israel regards those who have been funding/supporting them this whole time. Why should other countries get protests and violence as a thank you from Israel?
All that being said, I do find it interesting that there are calls for war crimes against Israel, but not Hamas. Had Israel stuck with what you describe as equal punishment there would have been probably even bigger calls for war crimes against them. But Hamas gets away with it, because Muslims. Israel is in a tough spot, and some of it is of their own making, Same should be said of Hamas. And don think for a minute that the Palestinians are anything more than cannon fodder for others that oppose Israel to continue to whip up support for their anti-Israel agenda. If nobody wants to take you in or rescue you from that situation, there really is no other conclusion to be made.
