So I got a new rifle for the purpose of shooting steel out to 600 yards.
It's nothing fancy, just a Remington 700pss .308 with a 20" 1:12 barrel. I reload for my other .308 but I use 175 smk's for that. Don't want to waste 175's for 600 yards or less.

So what I'm looking for are other options for my barrel and shooting steel out to 600 yards. I know there are 168's but wanted to know what other options I have.

The cheapest I would go would be bulk 168 or 155 noslers, they are 20 cents each if you buy 1000.

Otherwise just keep using the 175's, they are 25cents each give or take.

edit: you could always go with a 147 or 150 FMJ but why bother? You don't save a whole lot and I've never gotten them to shoot very well.

I have seen a guy who breaks down LC ammo on contract for the goverment. He is allowed to sell the componenets but not loaded ammo. I have purchased thousands of .223 LC primed brass from him and he also has "air pulled" bullets. SMK's etc. I bought 1000 from him to try, and have not loaded them yet. He attends many gun shows, as he has litrealy tons of the stuff. From Illonios I think.
