Heard some buzz on our local Neighbor web-site about a guy shooting a gun in his backyard, It sounds like he did it a couple of times before the neighbors figured out what was going on. I guess you need to shoot to get attention?

Shots Fired Call in Turtle Creek
On Monday, 5/14/18 at 8:43pm, officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired and someone yelling in the Turtle Creek neighborhood on Sea Turtle near Turtlehead. Officers from Vandalia Police Department and Huber Heights Police responded to assist. The crews established a perimeter and evacuated several residents from the immediate area for their safety. The first two responding Butler Township officers were recent graduates of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. They made contact with the man who had fired the gun and were able to get him to come outside peacefully. The officers discovered the man was suffering from a mental health crisis, and he was transported to a hospital for treatment. A search warrant was executed and the firearm was seized, and charges will be reviewed with the prosecutor once the investigation is complete. We appreciate the fast response from Vandalia PD and Huber Heights PD, the calm of our dispatches as they gathered and relayed all the information and made appropriate notifications, and the cooperation from all the neighbors while we diffused the situation safely for everyone. Thank you!
