Gunsmithing Speaking of torque, what's a good torque wrench?

I have two brothers who can fix anything. Me, I can break anything. That's why I have two brothers who can fix anything. Having said all that, I'm going to go down the very dangerous path (at least for me) of removing a barreled action from a stock. I'm already having nightmares about it. Of course when I reassemble the stock/action, I'll want to torque the screws down correctly. My question is who makes a good torque wrench that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

And yes, I'm clear that I want a wrench in inch/lbs NOT foot/lbs

Your wise and experienced answers are appreciated.

wheeler FAT wrench, Seekonk, and there are some others. Just make sure you get it in INCH pounds and NOT foot pounds. I got mine off ebay for like 25 bucks

I picked up a Craftsman wrench from Sears a few years ago. Works great, was reasonably priced and carries the lifetime warranty.

I have the same wrench. I got mine used off ebay for like 60 bucks.

I have had some cheaper ones and they just don't get the job done. I finely broke down and bought a 15 and 65 in-lb Seekonk. I have never looked back. I really like those tools. They just make those simple gunsmithing jobs like mounting the stock and action, scope mounting, etc. pretty easy. Good luck with you project. I think you will find it easier than you think.

Harbor freight offers a pretty decent inch pound wrench for about 35 bucks. I have checked it against my buddies snap on and it is dead on. Nice 1/4" drive twist settings, pretty decent tool. It really is!! Lee
