Very new into long range shooting but equipping myself nicely to spend the next few years learning. Disclaimer, I'm a lefty which is what drew me to Tikkas/TRGs.
Picked up a Tikka T3 Sporter in 308 Win.
Picked up a Bushnell Elite Tactical 4.5-30x50 FFP H59 34mm Tube Scope
My question is, and I've already spoken with Hakan (great guy, great products), given Tikka has the same style dovetail mount with recoil recess as a TRG-42, would you go with the specific Spuhr mount (for the TRG/Tikka) or would you opt for the Picatinny Spuhr mount. Hakan prefers the specific mount - less parts, less weight. $400 is a lot of coin on a mount, and I realize it's worth it, but I feel like the ability to move it between actions is valuable (even though I dont plan to, but is probably an easier resell if I ever need to sell it - guessing b/c I havent seen anyone reselling a Spuhr mount yet). On the other hand, given the quality of Tikka products, I really dont see myself taking it off that action ever, as I could always rebarrel the rifle for a long/magnum caliber down the road.
Just looking for any input you think would be helpful. If I look down the line I can see myself potentially moving the action to KRG chassis and using new DBM, but I really try to buy once, cry once and without a lot of experience am struggling with how to weigh those two options - specific mount vs pic mount.
