Suppressors STI 1911 or Dan Wesson...

I am looking at getting new 1911. I want to spend around 1000 to 1200 max. I prefer the 5 inch model but will consider the 4 inch models. I have been looking hard and right now I am between the STI Trojan or STI Ranger II..... And the Dan Wesson CBOB, Pointman or Razorback...

What are your thoughts? Which is better and why? Thanks for your help.

I dont own any STI's but they look like they are put together nicely.I have 2 full size Patriots and a Razorback and they have been flawless so far and put together very nice.I have a Cbob in 10mm on my short list whether its a DW or Fusion.

I don't have any comparative experience, but I do own a DW CBOB. All I can say is get one! You will love it! It is rock solid, and unbelievably accurate! Very well put together and hand finished with top shelf parts! The only thing I am pissed about was the fact that I didn't buy two of them when I bought mine brand new for under $900 a few years back!! Looking at the current prices that was an oversight for sure!!

I had never been a big 1911 fan simply because they never felt or fit right in my hand. The bottom back corner always dug into just the right spot on recoil that drove me away after a magazine or two. The first time I held a CBOB I knew right then and there I had to have one! Fits perfect and fixed my hand issue completely. I bought the first one I found after that!!

This was one of the best groupings while doing some load development for it at 10yds. I'm not a good shot with a .45 by any means but was pretty happy with that grouping! Combat accurate indeed!

I have both....WOW would be hard to make a decision between the two. Both top notch. My STI Escort is great for carry, but so is the Dan Wesson CBOB, but then again the Razor is a great shooter but so is the Lawman..

Now you have totally confused and old man.

I have an STI Trojan, and a Springer currently. Both are good, but the STI is in a different class. It is smoother, more accurate, just seems to handle better.

I own both and it would be a hard decision. Both brands are well made and shoot lights out, so basically it would come down to cosmetics between the two. Which looks better to you.

If you want a high cap, then STI's 2011 frame is hard to beat!

Thanks for the help fellas.. I still am not sure which way to go. I like the looks of the Dan Wesson the best. The Stainless steel finish is more appealing to me. They are just hard to find it seems.

BigDKC and lostangel.. Those are some great looking guns!

Keep the ideas coming.. I still have not made up my mind.
