Does it do the same thing with a different/stronger primer? Might be delayed ignition. Seen similar with primer pockets uniformed too deeply. HTH, DocB

Yep. Seen that when the hole for the firing pin is too big. Not too uncommon on older guns. --- aim small miss small ---
