Hello everyone,

I have a Les Baer 308 AR style rifle. I've been intending to put a scope on it for a while now, but have had trouble deciding. I'm strongly considering the S&B 3-20 scope. I like the ample zoom range and wide field of view, along with S&B's solid reputation. That being said, I know a lot of guys are leery of the new MTC feature. Would you recommend this scope, or stick to something else, like the US Optics 3.2-17 instead.

Also, what reticle would you recommend? I like the look of the Klein, but that's just my personal tastes.

Thanks

P.S. Please don't recommend something like a fixed power 10x scope. I'd just mount a cheaper Leupold hunting scope before doing that.

I have a 3-20x on an LMT MWSE and it works well for a longer range semi-auto. Mine is barrelled in 6.5cm so good for anything out to 1200 yards.

I did opt for the MTC removal and am happy for that mod.

I think it depends on what ur gonna do with it. For a battle rifle that's too much scope. For a pinker/long range/ hunting rig that would be a fantastic scope. I seriously looked at those for my rifle.

+1 on the GDI Mounts...

Don't use an inside 100 yards, AR15 mount when you have one like GDI tailor made for high end precision work.

I have 2 3-20s and both are in GDI Mounts

I guess I haven't done a huge amount of research about scope mounts. How is GDI superior to say Badger Ordnance rings? I've always heard top notch things about them and they're a fraction of the price.

GDI mounts are different all together,

Badger Rings are first class, but not the same. Most AR10s have a flat base and you need some cant, so that is where unimounts come in with an AR10.

I don't know how Les Baer does their top rail but odds are it is flat, you lose a lot that way. If this was a Precision Rifle, with a 20MOA base, Badger Rings are the first choice, but it is not

But doesn't Badger Ordnance make unimounts? And roughly half the price I believe.

good optic choice for an AR10 platform. I had mine on an IRA-10 before I recently sold rifle. if ur interested in scope let me know. thinning the herd. it's got the H2CMR. love the scope but not using it right now. with the high rings it will mount perfect on flat rail.
