'Super 8'- more like 'Pretty Good 6'.

Saw it earlier this week. Liked the actors and characters. Kind of a mix of 'Goonies', 'E.T.' and 'Transformers'. Feels like an '80s movie- like it is JJ Abrams omage to Steven Spielberg. Not a bad movie, just a bit ordinary.

One thing that JJ does that drives me nuts in movies is where all the characters are talking over each other, like at the begining of "Close Encounters" when all the air traffic controllers are talking all at once- that's what I mean about an omage to Spielberg.

Going to see it tonight, i'm not that wild about the story. I like Kyle chandler as a actor but other than that, i feel like it's going to be kinda of that "cloverfield" essence.

I liked it. It was a good coming of age movie, like the goonies.

I liked how much depth the characters had too. You could relate and understand them fairly early on.

1 thing that bothered me was the storyline though. It seems like JJ Abrams and Spielberg started at opposite ends of the story, and kinda met in the center. The two "lines" don't flow really well together.

It was great, there was alot of suspense, things started building, multiple lines all fed to the same thing, and then the end just kinda shit everywhere. Very odd.

I think this movie would have been good as the first half. THe movie had such depth it could have actually carried itself based on the interactions among friends.


Also, I liked the talking over eachother. Most movies have each person wait to speak like they're at a 4 way stop and its completely unnatural. Friends talk, and they often talk over one another...

I enjoyed it more than i thought i would. It was a good movie non the less. It actually showed the "thing" I was going to throw my popcorn if it was like cloverfield can't stand where they never show the "thing" thats terrorizing the town. Parts reminded me of the crazies which i really like that movie.

ive yet to see it but im concerned that i wont like it... theyve just hidden too much in the trailers. i like to know whats gonna happen.

Yeh I didnt rate it too highly either... trailers looked spectacular however.

I know I am going against some of the other views here but I would give this movie 5 out of 5 stars. I thought the cast was perfect, the acting was great, the Story was what I was wanting to see from Abrams. I thought from the start to the finish this movie was near perfect. I will buy it when it comes to blue ray.
