Hi everyone, joined the site to learn from more experienced shooters. Been shooting guns for about 30yrs and enjoy all types of shooting. Joined a local range with 1000yrds, started slinging rounds at 600 and realized i don't know wtf i'm doing lol. So I went out and dropped a bunch of money, now I need to learn how to use the equipment to go long distance. Looking forward to the journey!

Best bet is take a course from a good trainer. I took a 5 day course when i first started and it was worth it. probably saved the course money just in ammo trying to figure out what i was doing. Check out the training section. Other option is find someone local who would let you shadow them and learn. The biggest thing you need is the attitude that you know nothing and want to learn, sounds like you have it.

as said up top

dont waste another round down range, get in to a 2 or more day class

most important things:

Natural Point of Aim
rifle and you in concert, adjustment wise
trigger control

once you have those and are repeatable then you can start the other variables

if your position is not repeatable and consistent the rest is a waste

if your constantly in different positions behind the rifle and it doesnt fit right, the best gear in the world wont do anything

welcome to the rabbit hole
