Ok so I am about to come upon over $30k, well over $30k....
I have a crapload of firearms, enough to where I am not concerned about buying any new ones at the moment, except maybe a integrally suppressed .22 LR pistol. Mostly I am looking at picking up a few suppressors. I am looking at the following calibers:
.45
.30
.223
My goals are to get good reliable suppressors. I would prefer user maintainable ones, but if a particular model is sealed and has a good rep. then it is not a major issue. When it comes to mounting the .30 I would be looking at a threaded option. I would prefer to use the standard threading for a AR10 type, so I can adapt my bolt guns for it as well. For .223 I will probably go with a QD type mounting option. With .45 I would like to find one that can use thread adapters so I can fit it onto many various pistols.
in short, I want to be able to use the suppressors on as many various weapon systems as possible, without having to buy as much mounts/adapters as possible. Performance is also very important.
The .223 will be mounted on a single Mk12 mod 1 clone, and the only other weapon it could possibly be mounted on may be an AR pistol I may build in the not so distant future.
The .30 will be a multi-use suppressor as will the .45. The .30 needs to be able to be used on a couple types of semi-autos, but be able to be used on bolt guns as well (hence the threaded mount preference). I would also like it to be able to mount onto an AK with an adapter instead of having one just for the AK, though if it is cheaper, I may just pick up a dedicated AK suppressor down the road.
.45 on pistols, and possibly a carbine in the future. I have seen some with mounting adapters for different thread types, some replaced the rear cap of the suppressor. I would prefer options that are not much wider than the slide, in part to preserve sight use without needing to get raised sights for them.
I prefer user maintainable because I would like them to last quite a while. I also want to avoid baffle strikes of course. for .22 LR I am thinking of picking up a Ruger Mk III that is integrally suppressed. The main reason for integrally suppressed .22 pistol is to keep length down and prevent it from being as front heavy.
Materials I would prefer titanium, but I know those are the most costly. Stainless is acceptable for the rifles, and was wondering if anyone has had experience with aluminum ones for .45.
It would be nice to go shooting on my land, without needing much in terms of hearing protection, and without disturbing the animals or the neighbors as much.
Would also like to be able to purchase from a single manufacturer/vendor to possibly entice a discount for buying several at once. Do any places give military discounts?
