Got a new dilemma. I've been looking around for a 22 can and I've come up with these two as my finalists. The price difference is minimal. I'll be putting this can on an M&P 15-22, 10/22, and a Walther P-22. Anyone have anything to say positively or negatively about either can? I need pushed in one direction or the other. Thanks!

Re: SWR Spectre vs. Surefire 22-S

that's a hard one. The spectre is one of the queitest cans on the market.

The surefire is a new comer and traditionally they have not made quiet cans.

That is the real hat-trick for surecfire . . . a light, quiet .22 can.

I like and own a spectre. Its heavy and second to my prodigy and element in performance.

Surefire shit is cool.

If it is the sure titanium 2.2oz can that would me the pimp. Only question is how loud it is on the rifel and pistol platforms.

Don't discount the SilencerCo Sparrow, it's dam good too, Spector would be my choice between the two asked about, my brother owns most 22lr cans except the SF, which I'm sure he will buy.

They did a full auto mag dump of .223 through the Spectre to show its strength. The build quality is excellent. I wouldn't give up my Spectre for any .22 can, even if it was tax free.

I did look at the Sparrow. It was on my short list.

I have a Spectre and love it. Damn quiet on the Buckmark and 96/22 rifle. I'm itchin for a Liberty Kodiak TL though. You should check it out too.

Actually there were numerous mag dumps. Only the one was filmed.

You can't post a video like that on the net and not know what will happen when numerous mag dumps are put through it. Because people are quick to repeat what they see on youtube the moment they have the chance...

Re: SWR Spectre vs. Surefire 22-S

Kodiak TL is what I've got. Very please with it. Run it on a CZ 452 American, Ruger 22/45, and a CMMG dedicated 22LR AR15.

I'd really look into the Liberty stuff. They're great people to work with. Still small, so they don't have name to rely on...gotta make a good product and service it.

Kodiak TL is titanium tube and stainless core. If weight doesn't matter, the standard Kodiak is rated for hotter calibers including Full Auto 22MAG and semi-auto 5.7mm. But I got the TL because I like the light weight and never plan to shoot anything past 22 MAG.

By the way, Kodiak, Kodiak TL, and Essence are all easily taken down for cleaning and the tools to do so are included with the can when you buy. And they're all dippable and bead blastable.
