The fat shot

OP here. I am 50 year old white dude and 5'8". Family with one kid he's 10. Doc apt end of last year we talked fat shot and I was not a fan of the idea. Still not. But then I was 296lbs and the plan was I would loose 50lbs by this summer so I could go zip lining. Well I weighed in at 301lbs Friday. I have been yoyoing between 285 and 295 past 6 months - we just got back from beach vacation which pushed me over the 300 mark. While my kid is in school I eat good lunches and walk almost daily. Then go out of town for a weekend trip and after spending 2 weeks loosing 10lbs I find it in 2 days. I know the answer is hard work and a clean diet. Last time I was sub 200lbs and fit was football in 10th grade. Not sure if insurance is going to cover zepbound or not - not sure I'll take it if they do. But I need to do something different

I'd like you to try something that's free and fairly easy to do. Download a free app like myfitnesspal or something similar and track your calories for a few weeks. Everything you eat or drink needs to be logged even if it's only 10 calories. Get an average over a few weeks and see where you're at. It is a very eye opening experience for a lot of people. My wife lost almost 18 pounds this way with zero exercise.

On my fitness pal you can connect to friends and keep each other accountable.

That is a big help sometimes it seems.

No pain, no gain.

Took the liberty of editing your post, no offense intended…

It’s as simple as this.

Paleo / Caveman / Carnivore / Keto are all fanciful forms of Rationalization marketed to appeal to our INSECURITIES.

Rationalizations are a Defense Mechanism.

Don’t be the guy who needs a reinforced AssMax wheelchair or commode in their old age.

Don’t reek of filth because you can’t wipe your crevices.

STARVE to fit in your pants.

STARVE to attenuate flappy boobs that shouldn’t be there.

STARVE to ease your breathing.

STARVE to tie you shoelaces or cut your toenails without difficulty.

STARVE to get reacquainted once more with your now - involuted pecker.

Or WORK OUT like a fiend.

USE the SHAME you feel when you look at your scale or in your mirror.

Succumb not to trendy EXCUSES.

Man up and take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
Finally....Someone understands it.

Self induced physical suffering....Or some hard physical work; is one of the key factors to having a good life, in my opinion. When you are strong and can very easily move, life is much easier. The stronger, faster and more flexible you are, the harder you are to kill too. @chillywig It must be sad to look down when you piss and not be able to see your little pee wee, huh? i would look you right in the face and say "(name) Quit being a lazy fuck and come weightlifting with me, man. I'll show you how it's done if you want to lose some weight. You're a hazard to your family *edit if you're not strong and cant move swiftly to protect them. Let's go pick up the f'ing barbel. Edit* Iron sharpens iron as one man sharpens another.

Edit: FWIW, I am not coming at you with any type of hostility, but rather self reflection. I was blessed enough to endure a severe TBI. I recovered from that, went back to work and then earned the title of U.S Coast Guard Operator. It's not much, but.....in the community, I could out lift my brothers(in my olympic lifts. not their power) & give any CQC man or woman a run for their life (Force/Force) or cover them swiftly in the process of engagement. Lets get to work. IGY6 😘
