Well... Simo Häyhä used a Suomi KP/-31 submachine gun to off around 300 of his ~800 kills, he had 505 confirmed with the M/28 bolt sniper rifle in a one year period. He also rarely used optics, prefering to use his open sights. I think a skilled determined guy like that could figure out how to kill you with a coat hanger...
