@TheGerman called it.

Having money is one small part of living a longer and healthier life...

NOT BEING A DUMBASS with the money and spending it on things that contribute to good health and well being constitutes the other 97%...

It is just like quantity of ammo carried on one's person versus winning a firefight. A guy with 2000 rounds of ammo that is spraying and praying while yelling "durka durka" is not going to fare as good as another dude with only 100 rounds, but is keeping himself concealed, aiming carefully with his sights/optics and firing only when a decisive hit is guaranteed.

Mayor Bloomberg - We should tax the poor so that they can not spend the money on harmful things.

Though that may be true its not governments place make those decisions.

I say tax the poor because rich or poor everyone should contribute to the common cause.

As well it eliminates that population that says "Raise taxes? Who cares, I don't pay any!"

Everyone should have skin in the game.

Everyone should have skin in the game.

I can't agree more.
I've always liked the idea of a flat tax. Maybe 2 tiered, one for corporate and one for individual. However you slice it, EVERYONE pays that portion. I have never put pencil to paper but I'd be willing to bet that the governments take would go up while many people's taxes would go down.

EITHER a flat income tax, the same percentage from $1 of your income on upwards
OR a flat sales tax, the same percentage on everything.

Both would be great ideas, but they would mean the government and politicians can't play class warfare for political gain and everybody would now be all about putting the blame for stupidity on the government.

But as to rich & poor and lifespan.
It's not as much about money as lifestyle choices.

Eat junk food because that's what you've always done, don't exercise, live in filth because you don't clean, do drugs, alcohol, smoking, don't go to the doctor regularly and next thing you know, you have a shorter and less healthy life.

Often times those who are "richer" also care more about their bodies and are more motivated to do things like, Eat well, exercise, visit the doctor, give up bad habits, live in a clean house etc. All of which contribute to a longer and more healthy life.

Corps/companys/ect do not pay a tax on/from their profits, in reality. You pay for it via their product price. The consumer pays for everything one way or the other,... The higher you tax a product maker, the higher the product cost.

Just a flat tax on every individual. They would have to write a check for the amount directly to the Fed. None of the bullshit taking it out of your paycheck before you see it.
It would make the government live on what they get. By the time people wrote a check to the city, county, state and the fed they would be willing to buy tar and feathers with is leftover.
Adding it to a product would again be a hidden tax.

I confess, @TheGerman has shaped my philosophy on gun purchases. My wife and I were up at Tombstone Tactical gun shop in Phoenix the other day and I decided to check out a KAC SR 25. When the guy behind the counter told us the price, my wife said “isn’t that a lot of money for a gun?“

I dutifully whipped out the “go be poor somewhere else” line. She just laughed and shook her head. On the way to the register, though, she’s like “Hey, don’t you need some of those (pointing to the mags) for your gun? Also, let’s get some of this Black Rifle Coffee too!” Thanks, German (y)

Yeah, sounds great, until she says "my turn to buy something" and it cost double what your rifle cost ;)

Sounds like the vast majority of 'militant' leftists, gender-benders, and climate faggots... I doubt they live happy lives at all, which is why they want to destroy everyone else's.
