Laughing at the stupid in this country.
So should we get a pool going on how they will splain, how I should pay for this as well?

A fool is easily separated from their money. People have no concept of living within their means because most people know that someone or something will bail them out. Oh well.

If you want to pay debt and or living expenses i.e. food, you need to go to work. And more than 20-30 hrs. a week ain't gonna cut it. But from what I've been seeing, most up and comers think 30 hrs/week is a lot and or too much.

There's more jobs than people where I'm at, and I still hear them complaining about not having enough money. Shit's expensive, you're gonna have to work to pay for it and part time isn't gonna cut it. Plus, you spend less when you work more.

Credit cards are the number one fool magnet in this society. To the responsible, it is a convenient method of payment. To the irresponsible or the stupid, it is simply a way of spending now and forgetting, until the debt comes back and bites them in the ass, hard.

This phenomenon in OP's article seems to be the most prevalent in inner city 'hoods. Not uncommon at all to see hoodrats spending 1000+ on sneakers or game systems while they and their families are barely scraping by and couldn't even afford diapers. Absolutely ludicrous.

My first ride right outta high school was a beater Honda Rebel that I put a nice bit of miles on. And that lasted me all the while as I saved and made sure my shit is straight just in case SHTF happens and I need to fully use my own collected resources to survive. Owned a truck for a while but in the end I just didn't like being killed slowly by the ridiculous Empire State insurance rates. Right now I am happily riding a vintage 90's Tomos 50cc "Bullet Head" street bike that I partially rebuilt myself. Can't beat the 130 miles per gallon tag on this bad boy and it is perfectly geared up for long distance travel when I need it. And I am in the market soon for a nice mid to large size cruiser, probably a Rebel again since I am so used to it...

Life is tough. It is even tougher if you are stupid. The schools are mostly to blame for this shit too. They never teach kids essential life skills like money management, how to recognize and avoid scams, parenting, building and taking care of families. We are fucked because of this, and it seems like we are gonna be more fucked as long as leftists run the education system. They don't teach essential life skills because they WANT the future generations to live their lives begging to suck on the government tit.

Their working the system why go without when in the end your put into the ground to rot. So why not live like a king even if your just a poorper. When you walk in a cemetery can you tell who didn't pay their bills ? Your working two jobs breaking your back so some Washington Politician can live like a King while they tell you to follow the rules in life. Shepard fucks the sheep always have always will.

It would be a bit fun to do a Jesus job on the high interest lenders, just like he did on all the money changers & folks that turned the temple into a market place... not once, not twice but 3 times...

That doesn't surprise me one bit. I've worked with a lot of people that are probably in that group. Usually about time overtime got cut is when you see new vehicles disappear from the parking lot, new tools and tool boxes go back to the snap on dealer. Hell I've seen a kid sell a couple week old snap on impact for $100 so he could get a tattoo that weekend. One guy would come to work on Fridays bitching that his check wasn't deposited on Thursday night even though pay day was on Friday. He couldn't afford a pack of smokes and coffee yet he was making payments on a harley.

I've seen just about the same thing most of my life. I grew up on a farm in Indiana, where you learned what was important an what was fluff. We learned to do most everything for our self's out of necessity, an never throw anything away as the item/material could be used for something else at some point. Growing up an to date I've kept to those values, an it's paid off in spades in retirement. Many around where I live do not understand the difference between wants an needs. I have been in the LGS when people come in selling a gun they just bought 2-3 months ago to pay the CC they put it on. Was there one day an a woman sold 5 S&W handguns an one R-700 varmit in 300wm so she could make the first (brand new) SUV payment she had just bought, 60 days ago. I'm like, what fool allowed you credit for that in the first place if your living that close to walking? Many come in selling guns with all kinds of B/S story's, yet the next week they are back buying another gun an putting it on a CC as well. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess The ones that pay down one CC with another are the real winners as well. The common theme I see is out of the pawn shops it's look at me, new car, truck, jet ski, bass boat, motorcycle, address ect, yet they miss one week of dick sucking (work) it's pawn shop time again. A few lost their jobs, an their whole house of cards caved in,....much like this country will do will at some point.

Kudos to these "debt relief" companies offering to settle debts for pennies on the dollar. You bought it, you pay for it. Scumbag pieces of shit.

Debt relief companies are often the worst of the scum, preying on desperate folk, taking their last few dollars & leaving them in even worse shape than before.

One thing I can say positive about illegal immigrants is they pay everything in cash. They have a job, legal tender, and a residence. That article, if not fake, tells me 25% of Americans are fucking bums.

Well if you don't pay taxes, don't bother with insurance, don't worry about consequences, get lots of free stuff from the government and don't follow any laws you don't want to, you could save a lot of money.

Like many have said, it all comes down to living within your means. Back in 2009 I started a new job at the same time as another guy and he and his wife had fallen on difficult times with the recession of 2008 and got way behind of their mortgage. The job we started was a really good paying job and he was making good money and getting back caught up on bills but at least once a month he’d take a call from his mortgage company or car loan place about when he was going to send in the payments. He was always bitching about being behind on everything but then he and his wife would go out drinking every weekend and out to eat all the time. I see that type of shit with a lot of People and it just never makes any sense.

There was a time when I lost a job that paid 6 figures a year due to downsizing and things were difficult with finding another corporate job that paid anything close so I ended up siding houses for $9 per hour 12-14 hour days. Sometimes 6 days a week just to pay the bills. Fortunately I was raised well and even though had made really good money I have always lived well under what I could afford just for this very reason.

I'm not defending illegals. Just saying they don't rack up credit card debt that raises interest rates unlike 1 out of 4 members here if that article is truly representative of the American population. Only here it goes beyond just basic necessity. People just got to have certain material things they really can't afford in some gay attempt to hit a dead steel target. My stuff may be shit but it paid for from day one. And BTW, I deal with plenty of respectable trash that rather pay their taxes due they waste it on other shit. Penalty & Interest is a bitch and if there is clear intent the law will tack on another 50%. And most of the tax protestors I see are white trash. Can't collect a fucking dime. Just levy shit they don't really own anyway. Fucking bums. The first to bring up I pay income tax bug-a-boo. They never seen a W2 and can't tell what to do with a 1099 or just fucking ignore it. Biggest bunch of lying no good fucking trash we pay for no different than illegals. Thank you for opening that door.

In the survey, how many had jobs, was in their education level and did that translate into related employment. I have a feeling this was a tainted survey its NBC after all but working public is on a quick down slide.

Anybody run a business, hire, train, manage employees? Early 2000s good supply of applicants and good applicants at that most could and would pass a drug test and back ground check. Hiring was easy, management of employees was easy. I liked to hire vets they were mature, dependable, quality employees.

Around 2010 things started changing. Good supply of applicants but quality of applicants diminished. Approx 2015 huge change happened with few applicants and virtually no quality applicants and this included vets. I really wanted to hire them but get them on board was hard and once hired, hard to manage; no shows, tardiness, unproductive, drugs, theft, etc. off the street and vets.

Now its hard to even get applicants and when I do, 90% of those coming in are there just for the interview, sign my paperwork I was here to can you just sign, I am not interested in the job where I say No! I require a drug test and back ground check, their response is nope to can I wait a week to clean out! When do find an applicant that you may want to hire, their demands are outrageous. Now go through the hiring process and the trouble begins, late, no shows, I don't have a sitter, car is broke, wife took the car, out of gas, non-productive to pure lazy like actually sitting on a chair to sweep and mop a floor, on their cell phones at all times, slips trips and back issues workers comp claims, 15 min bathroom breaks every hour, they agreed to work to work $15 an hour but after a couple weeks they want more, can I get a month pay advance to buy car/phone/food/school clothes/ plane ticket/ traffic fines, I cant work this hard and these hours for anything less than $25, I just bought a new car/cell phone/name it and cant afford the payments, too many to list. Right to work, just let them go, yep while its legal but it wont fly today and you better have a lawyer on retainer and expect to fight and you will pay even with back documents of poor performance.

I agree with most of this, however, after recently changing jobs multiple times this year for various reasons, I want to point out that most places don't want to pay for shit. $15 an hour for skilled labor is bullshit when they will start someone with zero experience for the same money.

Who the fuck wants a certified welder for 13.70 but is willing to train someone that has never touched a welder before in their life. 50 cent raises every 6 months until you top out in 8 fucking years is a bit ridiculous too which is what I ran into at the one place which is a union company too.

I have had this discussion with a few people that tell me how great the job market is for someone. That's great if I want to work for $12 an hour. I better get to smoke weed at that pay because that's about the only fun I'm going to have at those wages. Let's not get started on the shit benefits and lack of retirement as well. But hey, we can't seem to find help. Dont forget that minimum wage will be $15 am hour in 2 or 3 years...

The schools are mostly to blame for this shit too.

You had my attention and agreement until this foolish statement.

It's the family unit that is mostly to blame, not the schools. When you outsource responsibility THIS is what you get.

Wealth is generational, so is debt. Take time to teach your children to be debt averse. teach them to save, give and spend in moderation.

If you need help getting started Dave Ramsey has a great program. You can do it for "free" by following his YouTube channel & listening to him on the radio.
