Not particularly amazing. Hunted a place that was 17,000 acres and even though we hunted it hard every year we never did get all the hogs. What people fail to realize is whistle pigs are actually woods critters with an affinity to openings. Their natural habitat is not in the middle of a 160 acre alfalfa field but along the edges of the woods with an opening close by. Guys that only hunt them in the big fields miss the majority of the opportunities because that is not where the majority of them are.
Good point about the ground hogs being on the wood lot lines. Normally if you find an old Black Locust stump you can bet there is a ground hog hole under it. Tom.
