A while back I got an adapter from a smith on here that screwed onto my barrel and let me run a 5/8 threaded can on a 1/2 threaded barrel. Now I'd like to get one for 9/16 and can't find or remember who it was. Any smiths here do this?

9/16" threads over 1/2" threads would be more challenging as the root diameter of the 9/16" threads would be similar in size to the major diameter of the 1/2" internal threads.
You effectively end up with a part almost like a heli-coil, but with different pitches.
The part is about as strong as a slinky...
Now, if you had enough extension for the 9/16" external threads to be forward of the 1/2"internal threads, then you are in business...

Before the software change, a member here with user id ksville offered a large variety
of thread adapters. Whether the id is current now with the software switch is a mystery,

Thanks guys. From the sounds of it I may be better off just getting it rethreaded to 5/8s and not worry with an adapter.
