Going to start my first custom build in the near future. Going to rebarrel a T3 lite .243 to a 6.5 creedmoor. Looking for input from guys who have had their t3's rebarreled.

who are the trusted smiths working on tikkas? Are rebarreling/chambering jobs in the same ball park as say Rems and Savages ($250-350)? Are the factory barrels salvageable? (I've heard they need to be cut off)??

I've seen a few customs by Chipley Arms posted here in the past. Im in Northern California, id rather have a local smith do the work if possible but I guess I could ship out if that is my best option.

thanks
eric

Re: tikka smiths?

I had MT Guns do mine. They were able to send back my blued factory barrel without a mark on it. They also had a Med. Palma Bartlein 6.5 barrel in stock, which is exactly what I wanted for my Creedmoor. Look them up, Bruce will be happy to answer your questions.
