Tikka t3 barrel rechamber 7mm mag. to 7 saum?

Hi,
The 7mm mag case, including the belt, is smaller in diameter than the 7 saum case that is .550 in diameter straight to the neck.
The 7mm case is 2.500 long vs the 7 saum case that is 2.035 long
Is it possible to take off the barrel of a 7mm magnum tikka t3, cut off approximately the .5 inch plus, re barrel thread and shoulder the barrel and rechamber to 7 saum?

If possible i would rent the reamer and do the machine work myself.

One problem I see is the reamer pilot engagement in the bore, you need to cut enough to get that.
After that it should be smooth sailing.

After some thinking it’s not a bad idea. If your barrel taper doesn’t interfere you shouldn’t have any problems. Definitely gets you some more barrel life for nothing.
