Some girly men just can't handle a good IPA...

Which is fine! More for the rest of us.

For everyone else, there is Zima or White Claw.

Ah ha aa hhah ah ahha ha haa....

Sierra Nevada, DogFish IPA, and Founders All Day IPA are always stocked in my beer fridge.

When people come over and ask for water, I hand them Miller Lite.

For everything else... Whisky

The first IPA I ever had was Modus Hoperandi. All I could think was "Why in the fuck would anyone put that in their mouth?"
Firmly set in my ways now and IPAs are my go to. Lagunitas IPA is my norm. Lots of other deliciously bitter ones out there and some already mentioned.

It seems that some of the newer ones have stolen the name and have a lot more citrus flavor (Hipsters are responsible for this I think). Give me that High Gravity IBU not some foofoo tangerine shit.

I'm a self proclaimed hophead! My daily drinker is a Founders All Day. For a little more alcohol bite its a Founders Centennial. I buy those two in 15 packs three at a time. At any given time there will be 6 or more different IPA's in my beer fridge. My favorites are Russian River's Pliny the Elder and Alchemist Heady Topper. Unfortunately those are distributed where I live and I have to trade for them. Truthfully there are few IPA's that I don't like.

I also enjoy a nice Porter or Stout in cooler weather. If its Barrel Aged thats even better. There will also be a half dozen or more different ones in my fridge at all times.

Can we just hijack this thread and talk about our favorite IPA’s now? Good, I’ll start.

Right now it’s Myrcenary from O’dell, but even the shittiest O’dell beer is better(my completely biased opinion) than a lot of other beers

I really like the Pliny’s from Russian River but those aren’t super common outside of kalifornia

Went and supported one of my favorite breweries in town thanks to this thread/with all of the mess going on with them in the state. Belgian Pale Ale is actually on point; not much of that bitter/hoppy IPA bite. The Mariachi tho...it’s sneaky evil 10.5% stir it with a fork chocolate and spice goodness.

^^^ Good stuff! My only complaint is its canned. I know the brewers say a can preserves it better, but the only aluminum can I want it from has a tap.
I agree, they used to sell "bomber" bottles, but have since stopped that. Must pour into a glass, I will not drink it from the can.

I ended up with Crown and Ginger. One was enough.

I'm NOT drinking my customary two drinks volume limit under this lockdown. Danged near tea totaling.

I am a recovering non-alcoholic

I'm leaving my soul to science...

If they they can grab a hold of it..., they can have it.

LOL!

Greg

I drink more Porter and Nut Brown than IPA but Lagunitas is OK and available. If you can get your hand in Victory Triple Hops you owe it a try.

Agreed.

That's why I keep a few tankards around. Me, I prefer a longneck. But an old silver regimental tankard is about the classiest way to enjoy an India beer! It's like being a part of the Raj! I just need a houseboy with a big fan to keep me cool on days like today!

Cheers,

I confess, I live in Arkansas. Whats wrong w a Coors Lite in bottle in Summer. Aint that bitter IPA shit.

"Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink..."

I was a stubborn Budweiser (not lite, I wouldn't brush my teeth with that shit) occasional drinker long ago when I was married (17 years).
Once I got divorced, over paid in child support, GAVE her the paid for marital home, and a business that I financed for her with my inheritance, I decided there was a variety of things that I had not enjoyed, beer being one of them. I started trying every different beer I could find. I collected the labels and when my kids and I were together, sometimes we would make collages out of them. I'm still waiting for my "Father of the Year Award" for that one. The kids did enjoy the art work. I have them framed and hanging in my home.

IPA's reflect my bitterness not towards my ex but towards the institution of marriage as I experienced it. So for me as that high IBU washes across my palette carrying the intoxicating the effects of processed sugars farted out by the bacteria from yeast, if find a temporary false feeling of happiness, reminding me that like a child that touches a hot stove, once it heals, you don't touch it again. Who ever said "there is wisdom in wine" had it a bit wrong. There is happiness AND wisdom in beer.
Now when someone has to "ask their wife" if they can buy this or do that. I smile a bit inside and think- That's why i don't have one of those.

I'm not bitter anymore- but my beer is 🍻😁

Read all that with humor, I'm really not that f*ck'd up... I think.
