Well I finally got lucky and with the help of a fellow Hide member, found the rifle I been bothering everyone about and looking for non-stop. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who had a little patience and those who gave sound, solid advice.
Oh and by the way KSwift, I did find it half price, and that Shelby is still sitting in your mom's garage where I left it last night. Suck on deeez....hahaha
Thanks again everyone, and now all you have to do is be patient while I ask everyone ten billion questions about ammo.

Spartan 9, OUT.

Re: Today is the day....

You guys are so funny. Dude orders the rifle yesterday and you expect him to have pictures of it? Not to mention in the other thread he said he was using a sat. phone to order. Might mean he is generally out of pocket right now and that rifles don't appear in 12 hours.

Re: Today is the day....

Alright guys, I love the skepticism, especially the effin cat picture, which I am going to borrow, so thank you for that. I ordered the Rem M700 XCR Long Range Tactical in .300 winnie all the way from here in Afghanistan. With the help of a Hide member, I found one at nearly half price, and still brand new. It was a factory overstock, and I could not believe the deal offered to police and military. I have been looking for a good deal on this gun for months now and bothering everyone with questions and doing tons of searching through forums and finally got it. It may not be a GAP or Surgeon, but it's damn good enough for me and I could not be more excited to get it. Won't be able to shoot it until I get home, but having it shipped to my brother in Arkansas, and he is going to take it to a smith and have brake, stock, optics etc installed. Thanks again for all the support and help with decision making process.

Re: Today is the day....

Oh yea and Kalman to answer your question...yes, I do.
Let's see, when I am not on here, I am usually on patrol, or in a firefight, shooting moving and communicating and or opening mail that your old lady sends me while back here on the COP on refit. Thanks bud, tell her I really liked those last pics.

I say let the man brag all he wants, congrats OP on the new stick, stay safe.

Re: Today is the day....

Just pulling your chain my friend. I guess the promise of new gun porn has people here almost as excited about your new rifle as you are. Thanks for the update, congrats on the new rifle, and as CleanMoostang said, most definitely stay safe until you can come home and shoot it!

BTW: I ran across the picture of that cat surfing quite a while ago. I thought the look on his face was priceless, so I added the "I remain skeptical" part. Never used it til now.

Re: Today is the day....

Hey brother if I can't have thick skin then I am in the wrong line of work. People tend to rag on each in an Infantry Company to the point that often goes way overboard. This gun is not any GAP or Surgeon, but one that I have worked my ass off to find and one that will suit me well. I am not trying to hit a two inch target at thirty miles or anything, and this gun suits me perfect. I am very excited and can't wait to find someone to properly put the brake and stock on for me back in Arkansas. I had someone in mind, but then I heard a few nasty things about him from someone who had work done, so now I am looking again. Thanks for the support and all of the questions that were answered. I ALWAYS used the search button before asking a dumbass question, as I saw early on what happened to lazy asses who decided not to, and rightly so. Thanks again guys, and if anyone needs advice on how to shoot a seven inch group at fifty yards, let me know.

Re: Today is the day....

Hey you mentioned ammo as your next line of questions. Somewhere on here Lowlight talked about shooting a fuckton of the MK248 MOD 1 I believe. Try to find that thread and read through it. Then you'll know what you want to be set up for when you get home.

Re: Today is the day....

10thMTNFSO, glad for ya man. It always makes the deployment go better when you have a new project to work on. I always order a new toy before deploying so it will be done by the time I get back. In this case I ordered a Skunkworks Perseus that will be done in a couple of weeks. And, I will be out of here in the next week

Stay safe!

Re: Today is the day....

This probably doesn't need to be said, but oh well... You may want to have your brother shoot it a bit before you pay to have any work done. Although unlikely, if it shoots like hammered dog shit and there are problems you might regret dumping money into it right off the bat. Like it or not, some shit slips through on mass produced factory guns. Just sayin'.

Re: Today is the day....

Dammit Craig I did not want to hear that shit even though it is 100% true. There is not a snowball's chance in hell he is going to shoot it before I do. That crazy bastard gave me enough hell straying away from .308, which he loves and shoots well. That being said, I do not plan on dumping a bunch of money into it at all. The only major things I am doing is replacing the stock, and putting a brake on it from Badger. Of course, I am putting a Bushnell on top, but have not made up my mind on rings and base. I have a lot of searching to do on here before I make up my mind on that. I am sure I will be asking questions about them in about a month when I have the majority of my homework done. I am just ready to go home and see the damn thing first. I have a metric shit ton of guns, but this is my first true long range rifle. I have shot a stock M700 .270 nearly all of my life and I am damn smoking out to about 450 with it. Thanks for the input though, I'm sure he will support you.
