Traveling with AR-15

I’m flying into Philadelphia in a few days with an AR-15 SBR and silencer. I already have the NFA form 5320.20 signed and approved.

Even though PA is 2A friendly, does Philly have any weird rules or regs concerning SBRs or silencers?

PA has a preemption statute and since the above NFA items are legal as long as you have the stamps; that applies everywhere in the state. However that hasn’t stopped a few cities, including Philly, from attempting to enact stricter controls (PA Supreme Court threw out a bunch of such laws including a Phila city-wide AWB a few years back).

PA law requires firearms be unloaded and stored in separate containers from ammo when being transported (suppressors are considered firearms for the purposes of the law).

All the above said, I’d recommend contacting a SME on Phila gun laws/regs just to be sure.
