I tried to help a friend and installed the scope he supplied (Bushnell Dusk and Dawn lit reticle). Before I installed his scope and the rings he supplied I dry-fired rifle and noticed that the bolt actually shifted position (The lug end shifted to the right side of the rifle and the rear of the bolt shifted to the left side of the rifle), all from just pulling the trigger... I have never seen a bolt shift like that. I later installed the scope, bore sighted and then started to try and zero the rifle......Accuracy was a name that should not be used with this rifle.... I actually believe this rifle achieved 3 foot HOA (3 foot "Hour of Angle").....Cause is sure wasn't Minute of angle. I think it sent a flier 5' off at 200 yards.......Anybody else had this issue with a Mossberg bolt 270?

Check out the bolt movement while you dry fire (No bullets.)it and hold the rifle very still and look down upon the bolt and let me know if his bolt shifts like the one I described.

Did you ever get around to checking this? I have a CHEAP Mossberg ATR that's really accurate for what it is(cheap)...It does have a sloppy bolt and a heavy, dirty trigger. Still, it's a decent shoot'n stick.
