Trigger job sans safety question

So, I got a remy 700 aac-sd and have upgraded the stock, got good glass and am now at the trigger. I ordered a Timney but, here's where it gets tricky, I got a 501 instead of the 510. When I took the old trigger out and was looking at them side by side, the safety mechanisms were different. One with a spring and one with a ball bearing indention.

The triggers side by side look like all holes line up perfectly, and I am more than comfortable running the rifle without a safety.

Can I still proceed? Or is there something I am missing, in regards to the mechanics of the trigger? Do I have to do the swap with the safety from the stock trigger on off? Is the new trigger, without swapping the stock safety to it, going to be stuck on safe? Is this the dumbest question ever asked on this forum? Is the amount of dirt and grime coming in from the now cavernous crag of the old safety going to require excessive cleaning?

Thanks

Hi SugarBooger,
Their websight shows you how to swap the safety to the new one. If you are worried, I would just call them and asked. I just installed a new one (510) with safety on my remington 700 and I love it compared to the original one.

Re: Trigger job sans safety question

okay, so looking around on here some more I found out that the 501 won't work with the safety off an X mark pro, which is apparently what I have.

So... the question still stands, without any of the safety components, will the trigger still work?
