ordering my trigger and debating about trigger pull. I'm thinking 2lbs maybe 2.5. my savage is set at 3 just seems a little hard. Whats everyone running. It'll be a timney

Re: trigger pull

Mine is set at 2 1/4 lbs with no take up, works great for me.
If 3 seems heavy to you I would think anything between 2 and 2 1/2 would be a good starting point, you can always adjust it.

Re: trigger pull

Timney 2.5 lbs is what I have. It is pretty sweet but I think I want to try 1-1.5lbs out... I've been warmed about slamfires and ADs by more than one person though so I have hesitated so far

Re: trigger pull

mil-spec on mine are 6 to 8.5 lb pull (M4)

beginners always go too light--records are set with 4.5 triggers
so most of us are not better than that elite crowd when it comes to AR's--see too many accidental discharges at the range by noobs
with too light trigger jobs

on bolt guns one can go lighter but experience should dictate the
poundage--the cleaner breaking trigger works better for me versus
lighter pull wt---having both is very expensive and is for the pros, not beginners
