Can anyone with a Trijicon MRO and PVS-14 perform an experiment for me? I am curious to know if an MRO will cause the same distortion when a PVS-14 with a magnifier is placed behind it. I've tried it with an Aimpoint Comp M2 and PRO and I get enough distortion with the magnifier to make it pretty useless past 100 yards. And before the "experts" chime in, yes I know that a clip on or dedicated night sight is the preferred method.

It will still see basically the same distortion, the T1 or T2's even worse at times. It's tough to use the AP's due to the large differences in glass size and F/Stops with a 3x magnifier. Is your 3x magnifier the Mil-Spec afocal? If not, that will add to the distortion and vignetting.

As much as I dislike the EO Techs for a multitude of issues over the years, the do work the best with a PVS-14 3x magnifier behind them.

Thanks Vic. I have a milspec 3x. I'm not a fan of the Eotechs either and was hoping an MRO would be better. We have some Eotechs at work that I'll try and see if it works well enough that I can forget about their past and overlook the poor design of their intensity buttons.

Welcome and yea I hear ya on the EO design on many fronts, but it sure does work well with a PVS-14 3x mag behind vs. the AP's as you will discover. For LE work I hate the auto off feature on the EO's as well vs. the 50K and 70K battery life on AP's you just leave on and they stay on. Heck I think one of my AR's, the T2 has been left on for over 2 years now and still working as advertised.
