Got a Nomad 800 and have been watching all of the FFS videos and messing around with FFS. I've got 90% of it pretty well down.

Problem I have is I can't seem to get a straight answer on 2 things regarding hardware for the Trimble that I didn't get - an actual battery and a charger.

I got the removable 3 AA battery pack which is fantastic for when you're out and can't charge your regular battery, but wanted to get the following things and can't seem to find what I need:

    - Rechargeable Lithium battery for the Trimble as well as whatever recharges it; are these the only option @ 100$ per? https://www.amazon.com/Trimble-Nomad-Li-Ion-Battery-Module/dp/6084988202

    - AC cord for the Trimble itself so I can plug it into the wall at home and not use batteries (does this also recharge the Lithium battery or just power the unit?) The bottom of my unit says 5.0V ~ 4.5A. Was looking on amazon and nothing makes sense.

    - Anyone know who makes this tripod mount for the Trimble? http://accurateshooter.net/pix/zeiss1big.jpg

How much battery life are you getting on the Li-ion batteries? I've been using just the 3 AA setup and its been draining them like crazy.

Fuck me!! You really are my HERO........

I think I just creamed in my pants when I saw that set-up in the picture!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I could help you with some answers, but my chin is still on the floor.

Edit: Picked chin up off the floor, google to see how much they cost. It led me to eBay, looks like there is a clamp style holder that mounts to a tripod. $109 something. The cradle style mount looks like it has a ram ball mount of sorts, you could start searching there?

sir i can help you with the mount its a ram mount, they make them for many different applications gps, fish finders, ect. i have a nomad and ffs but i cant tell you offhand where to get a cord try the manufacture, i received one with mine new if i remember the battery pack was extra and the rechargeable was standard. but it is worth it as it lasts a very long time.

I think I purchased my extra batteries from "Barcode Giant" and they will have the wall charger also. The AA battery housing is good to have in the event no AC power is available. I have a "FatCat" solar cell charger I use to recharge the battery in remote areas, Battery life will be determined by what all you have running, paired with, etc. After I get my GPS coordinates and atmospherics I turn off the GPS and pair with the Kestrel to save the battery. With just FFS running I've never ran out of battery during a shooting session.

Well shit, I have everything else in the picture so I might as well get the damn mounts!

The battery seems a little cheaper at that site.

Now as far as charging the Trimble, when you plug it into the wall does it just 'run' off the power, or does it simultaneously charge the battery (assuming a battery is in it)? Do I need a separate battery charger?

As far as the wall charger, can I just grab something like this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-lis...8&mv_color_name=4&qid=1492581509&sr=1-3-fkmr0

I've never just ran it off the charger as I just charge the battery but I imagine it would work? I just have the Trimble charger so can't comment on the aftermarket device although it looks like it would fit the bill.
