I am interested in getting a tripod but after doing some research I still have some questions and I am a little confused. Maybe it would be better if the items were in front of me but I don’t want to order parts that I don’t need.

So what I would like is a Leofoto LN-404C with a RRS anvil 30 for my MPA. Then when I am not using the tripod for my rifle I would like a plate or a head or whatever it is called that would snap right into the anvil 30 that would fit a Vortex Bino tripod holder and a kestrel weather meter vane. Is this possible and if so how or what do I need? A little more explanation below.

I am interested in the Leofoto LN-404C and I would like to get the RRS Anvil 30 to place my MPA in it but I see other options on the RRS and not sure what I need for it to go in to the tripod and when I am not using the tripod for my rifle I would like to use it for vortex bino tripod holder and a kestrel weather vane. Is this possible to mount those two items to a plate or something that I can just snap on and off of the anvil 30 depending if I need to use my rifle or not?

Thanks for the help.

Yep. The Abel table would work perfect for you. We just finished the large and small offset mounts so the micro ball head could be mounted.

Let me know if you have other questions, I can get specific pics and setups to show you how we use it if you’d like.

Here’s a link to the thread with a ton of pics

I built this, I don't know if that helps you any. The rig is custom built from the ball mount up, parts done by 4 members here including myself. It's most certainly not conventional, but it works like a champ and the whole damn thing was only $1137! Spotter is USO 15-45x and the LRF is a 7x Mk5 with a 6 mile range. Oh, and it works in day or night, PEQ is slaved to the LRF's reticle and PVS14 just pops on. I don't plan to shoot with this Sirui, but it is rated for 17.6lbs. and can be used in the prone to standing. Very nice tripod (I mean it's damn nice) only cost $137. For shooting, I have my eyes on that PIG for one day, but I don't know if it'll support some of the rifles I'd like to use it for.

Tripod will go all the way to the ground, you can use it all in the prone. Can also stand. There's more expensive tripods and ball mounts, but for this use I can't see why pay more. Unless you wanted the same thing in carbon fiber. Cameraland is who set me up, I couldn't figure out which one to get, but did know what I needed it to do --work normally in the prone, 8" min. height, can support weight, durable, not too heavy. They were able to take it from there. I love it and everyone that's seen it or used it has remarked about how nice it is. They come black and look nicer of course, I painted this one.
