Suppressors Underground Skunkworks "OPERATOR" Series 2011

Re: Underground Skunkworks "OPERATOR" Series 2011

I have a colt delta elite. 10mm is an awesome round, a lot of times under rated. When loaded up on the top end, your talking 357 magnum muzzle energy.

Can't wait for pics....a 4" 10mm sounds very tempting for a carry gun

You just talked me into offering a 10mm with and interchangeable 40S&W barrel.... </div></div>

Winner, winner, Chicken Dinner!!!!

Pic's and price please.

Re: Underground Skunkworks "OPERATOR" Series 2011

How 'bout some build specs. I have 4 STI framed pistols that have got me to a point where I've got several sponsors. If y'all want a tester for use of your pistol in competition, just say the word.

Oh...STI doesn't make aluminum frames any longer. They're all 4140 steel. They stopped that with their stainless frames a while ago. They do have special runs on occasion. I don't believe SV made one either (could be wrong on this one), but Sandy Strayer does love his titanium pistols.

Also...years back, you could get the STI Grizzly, which was a 6" in 10mm. Sweet gun actually.

On the OAL at 1.250" the guns just run better and there's less screwing around necessary with the mags to make them run happy. The reason? 'cause the 2011 is still a 1911 and dimensionally, the closer you are to the 45 ACP, the better.

The Spec Sheet is the next thing for me to do....I'm working on getting the rimfire rifle project to the point that I'm accepting orders and then the 2011 project will move a bit faster. Shouldn't be much longer as I should start accepting orders for rimfires next week....

Re: Underground Skunkworks "OPERATOR" Series 2011

Hey Mike,

I know you have a lot of irons in the fire right now, but any updates on the "Operator" 2011 project. I am still very interested and I know I am not alone.

Thanks for any additional info you can provide!

Re: Underground Skunkworks "OPERATOR" Series 2011

I'm still interested in hearing as well. I've been on the horn with Mike on this since February and have heard nothing so far.

Sorry Guys, with the 2011 Project, Rimfire Project, SKX and Take-Down Projects all coming together at one time, I haven't had a lot of time to post updates. I'm currently building more 2011's and will be posting photos as soon as I can. The rimfire project has absorbed a lot of time lately, especially with the new DBM's that I'm designing, so the 2011's had to wait a little while. I appreciate the interest and I will certainly be in touch with this as soon as possible....

Re: Underground Skunkworks "OPERATOR" Series 2011

I would just like to know what the innovation is at this point.

2011s have been available for almost 20 years now. There are many gunsmiths that have legendary reputations for building them.

If you're going to do something new, by making your own frame, avoiding the patents, etc., you should just spill the beans now.

What is new and improved? That's really all I'm interested in knowing.
