Rifle Scopes Update Steiner M8Xi/Pictures

According to Steiner Reps M8xi will have MSR type reticle instead of G2B reticle. Looked thru it at NRA show and it had the MSR type reticle and was told that this would be the production model. Some arriving from Germany in Colorado now in small batches. More coming in the next month etc.. Anybody hear more at 2019 NRA show?

That would be awesome if correct! Every listing I've seen was G2B.

I expected the G2B reticle also until I looked thru it. Then I started to ask questions and they said that would be the MSR type reticle.

EuroOptic now shows the new reticle with their M8Xi listing: EuroOptic M8Xi interesting...
Did you get a chance to check-out the quality of the illumination?

Yes, What i could tell inside the building looked good. I would have liked to have taken outside, but they might not get it back. The reticle DMR on EuroOptic is spot on. The one I seen. Different than the MSR reticle.

I looked through it at the NRA convention. Impressions:

Illumination: Very good

Eye box: Inferior to ATACR and the new VCOG 1-8x. Hence, harder to get behind. The new VCOG was the best in this dept.

Optical clarity: Good but I saw some distortion on 1x. Was not happy about that given the price point.

I would take the ATACR over the Steiner. I would take the new VCOG 1-8x over both if the durability pans out.

Madangler1, did the reticle at the NRA show look like the one above?

The one I looked through had a dot in the middle that illuminates but I believe looked quite similar. The reticle was nice. My issue was the distortion at 1x and smaller eyebox than the ATACR.

Received 2 of these. Kept one for shop demo. Have 1 new sealed box unit left. We are a Steiner dealer but typically don't deal with the day optics. These are so new some of the stuff online is inaccurate (these are sfp, fixed parallax ..etc). Please give us a call or email to discuss. Ugh! 1x distortion is a deal-killer for me. Rats! Was hoping the Steiner would be legitimate competition for the ATACR. Double Rats!!
